I am using a free StartUP version. to test with a range of five numbers. A main number and 4 DIDs. The four DIDs are notified to four extensions. No matter which number I use for an incoming call, all extensions always ring. Before the last update you could use *XXXXXX for the DIDs, now it doesn't work anymore. Is there a solution for this?

Thanks for help.

Hi @franzstuebi,

Please clarify the following:
  • What is the provider that you are using?
  • Are the DIDs configured in E164 format?
  • How are you associating the DIDs with the extensions?

We use peplefone as a provider. It's not a problem from peoplefon. We did 100 installations of 3cx with peoplefone.

E164 format is +41415556677

Assigned valid extension number(s): There is no other choice in the user area.

All DIDs are going the same callflow as the main number. No matter to which user the Did is assigned.

Can you create a Wireshark Trace for an incoming call?

Cannot make a wireshark trace. What the problem to make it possible again to enter the DIDs with *5566 as before the last software update. When we can enter the DIDs just *5566 insted of +41415526677, then it works. Before the past release update it was working at that way.

Startup is more static than a dedicated 3CX, so it would be the best way to use it as described in the 3CX Help section:

Hi @franzstuebi,

Please note that in StartUP you cannot use wildcards when configuring DIDs. They must be configured in E164 Format.

As mentioned by @Ritter Technologie, you will have to contact your provider in order to enable the option "Called Party Format".
If this is done already, I would advise you to open a ticket to 3CX Technical Support in order to further troubleshoot the issue.

Hi GeorgeP_3CX

We don't have a provider problem here, 3cx has to solve this problem. The reason I posted the issue here on the forums is because I want the issue seen and hopefully resolved by 3cx soon. Wildcard worked until the last update, so you can fix it again.

Regards.

In my opinion, 3CX should now react and fix this error itself. At the moment all DIDs are automatically routed to the same call flow destination as the main number. This is not effective.

Please note that Peoplefone now supports E164 with a leading +. That was not the case before. Since there is now support for E164 you need to enable it through the Peoplefone customer portal or have your Peoplefone partner enable it for you.
Wildcards are used when we are not sure about something and since Peoplefone now has the option for E164 wildcards are no longer necessary.
Please enable option "Called Party Format" for E164 and everything will work as they did.

This change/requirement is to assist you have a better experience. If multiple people use wildcard numbers and are not careful your calls might end routed elsewhere because someone decided to use 5 digit wildcards and they happen to also match your numbers. This is something you do not want. When we know exactly what number format the provider supports we will always opt for that.

Yes, that's ok so and it works at that way.
