Inbound Fax not coming through

Does the efax service where you go to Inbound Rules, Send to Fax, select the extension, still supported? I'm not recieving faxes now. We had this issue years ago where it stopped working.
This is not about the ATA's and fax machines.

If the call is being presented to 3CX, then there will be a log related to the call. Is the call just ringing and ringing?

I don't see a log for it, but when i call the DID i get the fax tone.

maybe something changed with v16. For the efax service to work do i need to setup the fax server? I have many functioning ATA devices. It's just this efax not working.

what is the Fax server needed for? I don't use 888 for anything and it's not pointed to any DID
