Okay so I have been working on getting my faxes to receive for a while now and it is still failing.

I finally have it so I get fax tone when the number is called, when I send a fax to the number the fax machines both of them that i tried two different brands from two different phone lines (pstn lines) say the fax went through. No errors on the server log that I can see at all, but the fax never shows up in email. The email works fine for voicemail but nothing on the fax side. Is there a seperate place that I need to configure smtp settings for the fax than the one for voicemail? Do I have to install something different or more on the server to create the pdf document, some kind of pdf printer or anything? If I was getting a bounce or something I could see that, but I get absolutly nothing even after more than 8 hours of waiting.

Thanks

Jim

Have you installed this?
http://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/3cx-fax-update11344/

Wireshark i can not see, where is it?
Plz check the fax.log is not only ur mailserver dont send the fax. nextvortex works w/o any changes to the ini file.

Do you have secure passwords on ur PBX?
I know now you plublic IP and that u have a 4 digit installation!#
be carefull with the posts. i guess we have to change the policy.
May del. ur post to be sure!

Well I installed the update for the fax that was recomended. Still not getting anywhere on this fax. Infact now the fax will not go through at all. I can hear the tone on both 3cx fax and the initating fax but neither one connects, just goes until it times out and does not send.

I now installed version 9 to see if that helped at all but still the same issue.

Is it true that 3cx will not recieve faxes from all fax machines? Is there a really simple workaround program that is free or inexpensive to recieve faxes, I really want 3cx to do it but it really seams very limited and that I am going to constantly have issues with this thing.

Thanks

Jim

this is not only 3cx, this is a given at fax.

When i see this right then u try to get a fax from a voip provider.
what is the name of the provider? Do they support T38 transmission?

Second, restart all services on the pbx and wait 5 1minute.
then make a new incoming fax to 3CX.
Then go to: C:\ProgramData\3CX\Data\Logs and post the contend from 3CXFAXServer.log here

3cx fax works as well and reliably as any VOIP fax solution. As far as "limited" - that depends on your needs.

There are several providers that support T38. If you are in the US, I can recommend one I _KNOW_ works reliably.
