Hi All

I have a client running 3CX v11 that has the following requirement:

Basically there are going to be 3 different companies residing in the same office block. All 3 companies are going to be sharing both the 3CX phone system as well as a single receptionist. Each company will have a direct number for their various customers to call which will all be directed to the reception phone.

The receptionist will be required to answer the phone and greet the customer as company A, B or C but to do this, she will need to be able to differentiate between which number was dialed.

Is this possible? The receptionist is currently using a Yealink T-28P phone.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

This can easily be done be routing calls through ring groups or queues.

3CX automatically amends the caller ID name field with the group / queue name on the LCD and on MyPhone

Alternatively, and/or in conjunction with the other suggestion (which is very valid), you can set up a different extension for each company on the T28 on the account keys. Using the inbound rules, you could then use the callerID mask to direct the calls for each company to its associated extension 100, 200 & 300 (see below) and each with a unique ringtone. Further, you could then segregate the companies by extension ranges:

Company A might be 100-199
Company B from 200 to 299, and
Company C from 300 to 399.

It will require some training and time and the phone will need to be set to accommodate multiple calls at the same time.

You can also prepend each phone number directly - just enter it as a DID - and the name can be prepended to the incoming number.
You will need to instruct 3cx to add this information to the caller ID. I think it is OFF by default.

Thank you so much for the feedback :-) I will give it a test run when I am next in the office.
