Hi All,

I have a PBX setup on-site i.e. not hosted with various extensions, soft phones on mobile and Laptop all working fine.

As an experiment for a cheap phone to use locally on WiFi I'm trying to install the softphone on an old phone with out of date Android so the browser does not work = can't update the browser = can't logon the any app store. Direct Goole Play Store link says need an update first = in a loop. Updating unsupported Android version is possible just messy and I would like to try another option before this tedious route

With Windows I can just log on and download the 3CX app and install; with a phone the install is direct to the phone and as above won't work, least I can't see a way to just get an install .exe

What I'm looking for is a way to download the softphone app as a file to a PC, then copy the file to an SD card, then install the SD card in a the phone and install the 3CX app from there.

Is the softphone app for Android available as a file?

Regards...

If the Play Store tells your Android OS is not supported, then even as a file direct copy the 3CX client won't launch.

I guessed as much scrolling down to the softphone Android version needed, BUT what would be really handy would be to know how to do such an install should the softphone for Android be available as a file. You hint at that but no more information ? "file direct copy"
