When installing 3cx on linode, I'm getting "No common cd-rom drive was detected"

Anybody have ideas on how to solve this and get to installing it?

I loaded the iso to a raw storage with 1gb of space with dd, and it boots into the 3cx install menu, but once in, it prompts me for the cdrom which won't let me go further.

*edit* If I specify a cdrom with /dev/sdb, it allows me to go through the install process, but in the very end it gives me a " [!!] Install the GRUB boot loader on a hard disk " "The 'grub-pc' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot."

I use vultr to run my 3cx just fine. Point click, installed, done. Linode not so much. Both are KVM hypervisors.

Not sure where to go from there.

I am sure you already know this, but I will just want to say for others reading this thread, if you want a headache-free experience, go with one of the supported/tested hosting providers:
https://www.3cx.com/partners/hosted-pbx-providers/

Alternatively, you will be installing on your own equipment, use the 3CX ISO and use a supported hypervisor platform from what is mentioned in the linked guide.
