Hi All,

I have a client with some 20 Yealink T46S phones that are connected to 3CX (hosted).

At the front desk of this facility, in addition to the receptionist's Yealink phone, there is a separate, very old, 2-wire AiPhone master console system.

The AiPhone system is connected to some 120 residents' rooms. In each room there is an "emergency phone". When the phone is off hook, it immediately rings the master console at the front desk. A button with the corresponding room number is blinking on the master console when the phone is picked up.

Looking for advice on how to integrate the 2-wire emergency phones to 3CX with or without keeping the central console. Either by:
1. Interfacing with the old central console, or;
2. Replacing the old central console with a more modern central console system that works with the existing 2-wire emergency phones.

The goal is to enable the receptionist to answer the emergency calls from the T46S which will be connected to a few EXP40 expansion cars - without replacing the 2-wire infrastructure.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Nir.

Depending on the compatibility of the sets currently in the rooms, you might be able to re-use them, connected to ATAs, set to hot-dial, the front desk phone extension number, when off-hook.

If you went with choice 1...I'm not certain how you would interface the central console phone with 3CX. You might be able to connect the console phone (the handset), to a gateway, to allow the calls to be answered by the Yealink, but they would still have to look at the console to see which room was calling, so it would not really gain you much.

Given these are for an emergency service, Choice 2 would probably be the most prudent solution.
