Good Day,

Our previous Avaya phone system had a function to do this using *8. And our CEO liked it so I have to ask if we can recreate it with 3CX.

Example - When you place a call and get someone's voicemail but you don't want to leave a voicemail but want to place another call to a different extension without hanging up. Is there a way to configure a shortcode to end call and get a new line?

Could also hang up or press "End Call" and line button but wanted to know if there was a way to accomplish this similar to Avaya.

thanks.

If you are the owner of a mailbox, there are a number of options available to you after you have entered your PIN. If you are simply leaving a message then the only option is to transfer to the operator extension, however, if you don't have use an operator, that (operator extension) could be forwarded off to an IVR for more options.

thanks for the response.

In this case he is calling others so he would not be owner of the mailbox. We do have a receptionist. Is the press * (for reception) configurable?

Pressing * will go off to the reception extension, that's it. As I said, if you don't use reception, then that extension number can be forwarded to something else such as a digital receptionist.
