Hi,

Does blacklisting network id xxx.xxx.0.0/xx (xx - the lowest available) instead of single IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx make any difference?

If you add a single IP Address it will only take that one single IP.

If you add a network Id and the subnet, you will see the entire range that will be blacklisted. Be careful with this, as this might block a legitimate range of IPs as well if you enter a broad range of IPs.

Thanks for the reply....Yes, I do understand this might block a legitimate range of IPs as well, but this will only affect if access to the PBX system needs to be allowed means either registering an agent, making a call from PBX, or something like that. All who might be using blacklisted IPs will still be able to call my PBX system. Am I right?

Yes, this is for registrations to the PBX. Meaning that they are trying to connect as an extension. We will see the IP Address of the SIP Provider so they will not be affected.

If the SIP Provider is within that range they will not be able to send a request however.
