I'm wondering if it's possible to ring the android client separate than the desk phone based on some criteria.

i have a ring group setup that rings a few extensions at the same time on inbound external calls. some if these extensions are setup with desk phone and mobile clients. some people dont want their mobile clients to ring on inbound external calls, they only want both mobile client and desk ohone to ring on internal calls and desk only on inbound external calls. is this possible?

Hello,

- This is not possible. How the PBX will distinguish on which device an external or Internal call should be sent since both devices have the same extension number?

Thank you

Not the most elegant solution, but, since an extension forwarding rules are able to differentiate between internal, and external calls, you might use those rules (of a dummy extension) to send the different type of calls to different destinations. One could be a ring group made up of two different extension numbers, the desk set, and the mobile client. The other destination would just be the desk phone.

This is more of a PBX feature request. The client is just another extension. Feel free to open it as a new thread under the Ideas section of this forum. If it gets enough attention, it might be something to be considered.
