Is the Kamailio database necessary in Elastix MT?

Just wondering why the Elastix developers chose to use the Kamailio database.

So far as far as I can tell the only thing it is used for are the 'ipaddr' and 'domain' tables. I have not found any reason so far why that could not be in elxpbx database instead. Hopefully someone can chime in and explain why.

If kamailio change his database structure, we should have the possiblity to upgrade kamailio without breaking anything in elastix....
