Using Telnyx primarily as SIP provider for most systems. Internal calls going from an system extension to another extension is failing to ring mobile. Has anyone been able to get this working for Telnyx?

Hello KenTelektronics,

when you say internal call from extension to extension, and mention Mobile, do you mean the 3CX APP on the Smartphone using the internal extension ?

Paulo

Not using the 3cx app for most of the extensions as they aren't always smart phones. We serve an area with a large amount of amish and those folks tend to have flip phones. They still want to receive internal calls that come to their cell phones though. Those calls are currently being flagged as not allowed and a packet capture is showing "Status: 403 Caller Origination Number is Invalid D35. In V18 it was very granular changing caller ID information, not so much in V20.

Hello KenTelektronics,

So this is about getting the Sip Trunk "Telnyx" working with the caller ID.
What is the number you want to use to send out? is that stored in the Caller (extension) "Outbound Caller ID" ?

Paulo

The number that should be presented should be the DID of the extension if there is one, but that's not always the case. In general I would like the main business number be listed as the caller ID I've just not been able to solve the correct parameter to change. Exporting the sip XML there is more data, but unsure of which needs to be changed/added.

Hello KenTelektronics,

If you want to send out the 'main number' for all those calls, you could setup an outbound rule for this.
At the mobile number of the extensions enter *** in front of the mobile number.
Create an outbound rule with ***, select the trunk and strip 3 digits, and set the Outbound caller ID to be used.
Test one, and if it works for you, than copy this *** thing, to all the other extensions.

If you want to send ALL outbound calls with the main number on this SIP trunk, you can setup the Default Outbound Caller ID in the Options:
