Hello. We have updated version 3CX on a server of our customer. The PBX is working well.
But some auxiliary services don't work:
Application: 3CXGatewayService.exe
CoreCLR Version: 5.0.721.25508
.NET Version: 5.0.7
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'WebMeetingBridge, Version=18.0.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (0x80131040)
File name: 'WebMeetingBridge, Version=18.0.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
at GatewayService.Program.Main(String[] args)
at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.AsyncMethodBuilderCore.Start[TStateMachine](TStateMachine& stateMachine)
at GatewayService.Program.Main(String[] args)
at GatewayService.Program.<Main>(String[] args)

On the other hand, the PBX backup does not work either. In the administration console when you try to backup a popup window appears with the text "server error". "Could not load file or assembly 'GenericUtilsNet, Version=18.0.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. El sistema no puede encontrar el archivo especificado".

Hi @DAVIDSISQUES,

Can you provide more information? How did you do the upgrade? What steps did you follow?

What OS is this installed on?

If you click under SIP Trunks, do you see the WebMeetingBridge? Are you able to restart the 3CXGatewayServices from the Services tab in the Dashboard?

We backed up v16 and uninstalled. We installed the V18 and recovered. The OS is windows 2019. We have another additional problem, we don't know since when but it doesn't make updates.

From dashboard the service 3CXGatewayServices does not start either

Hi @DAVIDSISQUES,

Firstly, make a copy of the backup file (so we have an untouched backup). Then open the copy and open the xml file in the main directory that opens. At the top, check the exact version number and let me know what it is.

Does the Windows server have any other 3rd party application running on it?

To clarify, did you use the backup during installation or did you install fully then restore the backup?

Is this a new problem that started recently when the upgrade happened or was the system working before and then this started?

Hi,
<version>16.0.6.655</version>
<Date>15/11/2021 9:07:09</Date>

Windows runs SQL and a web application. I was already running them before the upgrade.
We use the backup during installation.

Before the update if you could make backups, this one we did the day before.

Hi @DAVIDSISQUES,

Okay what you'll need to do is uninstall 3CX for Windows from that machine. Then uninstall / clean the server machine - it shouldn't have any 3rd party apps running like SQL.

We advise that you update the OS of the Windows machine and restart.

Now download the latest Windows PBX installer from the Customer Portal under the Downloads section. Reinstall the PBX using your backup.

Check our installation guide for Windows here to make sure that you're following our best practice standards: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/phone-system-installation-windows/#h.7lgcpd5rel6n

Hi,
Ok, I'm telling our customer. But it will not be easy, t they have been sharing 3CX and SQL machine since V8 without problems and now, with V18, they must change.

In addition, as we can not make backup we will not be able to recover the last configuration in the next installation.

To clarify, this goes for anything so that means webservers or any other 3rd party software too. Might not be easy but I believe it will be better for everyone in the long run.

In addition, as we can not make backup we will not be able to recover the last configuration in the next installation.
Based on the error you get when you try to run the backup I'm not sure if this will work but you can give it a try:
https://www.3cx.com/docs/backup-restore-command-line/

It's instructions on how to take a backup via CLI. Make sure you look at the section for Windows.
