Hi all,
i am a new user and still learning my way around 3cx, i am using a professional hosted setup, which is quite a simple setup, i have one phone number going to multiple handsets so i can call and answer from any cordless or deskphone, i have it set as extension 11 and my office hours are set 9 to 6 monday to friday, closed weekends. while in the office all works well, however my issues seem to be outside office hours.
i created a user extension 12 with the purpose that at 6pm when the office is closed all calls that would come through to extension 11, now go to extension 12, which is my mobile.
i can see the call come through on the iphone, however it just says 3cx call, the callers numbers shows correctly, the only option i have is to slide to answer the call, i dont have the 3cx application come up to give me options to send to voicemail or anything like that,
am i doing something wrong or is this some limitation with the application and iphone?
i tried to work around the issue by simply ticking the box for user 11 to also ring my mobile when the office phone rings, the issue with this is that when the mobile rings it just shows my caller id and not the customers who are calling me, so i cant actually see who is calling me.
prior to moving onto 3cx, with my existing phone i had i could simply type in *72 with my number i wanted to divert to, i cant seem to be able to do this with 3CX, hence the reason i created another user 12, for after hours calls.
if my setup is incorrect please let me know if there is a better way to be able to do what i need, basically answer calls when i am away from my office and be able to reject the call so it goes to voicemail.

thank you
Ari

Hi there.

am i doing something wrong or is this some limitation with the application and iphone?
Indeed, this is a limitation for the iOS application and this option will only be available in Andoird/Webclient/PWA/New Windows app

thank you for the reply, that is quite an issue unfortunately as i often need to send a call to voicemail.

You mean you are not always in front of the PC (so that you can use PWA) and in your case, you use iPhone ?

correct, after hours when i close for the day, i may be out or anywhere in the house, while i have my phone with me, sometimes i cant get to the call as i may be in a place where i cant talk so want to send to voicemail.
i guess i can just let it ring out.
do you know if there is any plans in the future to address this limitation or is it someting that apple wont allow?
thank you

Indeed, this is a limitation not allowing for the option to be there.
So in your case, as you said, you can let it ring and then have it send to your voicemail, if the call is coming directly to the user/extension.

is there a way to just divert the call instead to my mobile?
when i do this, it shows my office number show up on the iphone and not the customers number, if i could divert the call form 3cx to my mobile and see the customers number directly that would be ideal.
thank you

It's not an easy few clicks task, as this could require you to reconfigure your SIP trunk outbound parameters, and also your provider must allow you and send that caller ID further.
In the SIP trunk settings, the information you can modify in the outbound parameters is limited, so in that case you will need to know the SIP field the provider expects you to send the number and then have it set as an Originator Caller ID, you can read more about those parameters here. Of course, you need to know what you are doing, and ready to experiment with the settings.

thankyou, i will look at the article

You are welcome! ;)

Press the hardware power button - it will drop the call and that will follow the forwarding rule, by default divert to voicemail.

i have tried pressing the buttons on the iphone, but sadly not possible, maybe it is on the newer iphones where the power button is a combination of power and volume up to be held, but no combination works to send to voicemail, unless i let it ring out.
thank you

I am using an iphone 14 pro and this works for me without issues. Just press On/Off Button when an call is ringing.
