Good morning!

I'm working with a client that has a Singlewire InformaCast paging appliance that we're working to use with 3CX.

In the paging appliance I basically have a SIP trunk that points the appliance to the IP of 3CX and is targeting the pilot number of a multicast paging group.

When I send a page from the appliance, the call connects to both of my test endpoints as it should but instead of the prerecorded message from the appliance, all I hear is the 3CX music on hold. I have attached the logs of one of these test calls and will be happy to provide any other info.

For clarification in the log X.X.X.3 is the paging appliance and X.X.X.5 is 3CX.

I am trying to connect these two products as well. I know nothing about phone systems so just getting the SIP trunk set up is being a problem. Any chance you would be willing to send me a copy of your provider template?

In answer to your question ... I found this bit of documentation. http://bit.ly/2NCn5qg

As an update to this, I was able to get audio working properly. What I ended up having to do was to point the SIP trunk in InformaCast's LPI to our Cisco PRI gateway which then had a dial-peer sending this traffic to 3CX. Adding this step in the middle resolved the issue with hold music playing.

Hopefully this helps you moving forward, would be happy to help if you're still having issues

I am glad you solved your problem. My use case is not like yours. My goal is only to use 3CX from a softphone to dial an extension which routes into Informacast and fires an announcement ... and the key announcement type would take live audio from the call and broadcast it.

I am hoping that I do not need to deal with trying to connect either of the systems to any telephone company trunks for calling outside either system ... just dialing from 3CX directly into Informacast.

To do this it seems like I need to configure a provider and I don't know what these settings should be.

Informacast is saying that they don't know how to do this but "it should work ...".

Any help would be appreciated.

Your scenario doesn't sound too complicated. One question I have that you haven't mentioned is what Informacast is using as endpoints for these announcements? Do you have IP speakers registered to it?

On the Informacast side you'll need to set up a DialCast that takes in the digit string you send from 3CX and connects it to the ad-hoc message. The last version of Informacast I worked on was quite old (9.0.2) but i don't think DialCast has changed all that much. Just go to Admin>DialCast>Dialing configurations and add a new Dialing Configuration . Point the dialing pattern to the digits you set up in the step above, choose if you want to force authentication, then select the "Message to Broadcast" and the recipients.

On the 3CX side you'll need a generic SIP trunk that points to the IP of your InformaCast appliance. To do this go to your SIP Trunks section in 3CX and add a new trunk. Pick Generic for the Country and Generic SIP trunk for the provider. Your main trunk number will likely be the digits you want to dial to start your announcement from the softphone. In this config set the IP of your Informacast as your "Registrar/Server/Gateway Hostname or IP" and you can likely keep the default port. That should be all you have to do on the trunk.

Once you've got your trunk to Informacast, create an outbound rule that sends the digit string you want to trigger the ad-hoc announcement and point it to that trunk.

Yes, the only recipients we have in our system are IP Speakers. They are registering themselves when I attach them to the network and multicast is working fine.

I think I have set up what you described. I am getting this error ...

09/05/2018 2:07:40 PM - Call to T:Line:10000>>14915550010@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5060] from L:13.1[Extn:00] failed, cause: Cause: 500 Server Internal Error/INVITE from 68.284.XXX.XXX:5060

Any ideas?

I really appreciate your help, thank you!

Is this a hosted or on-prem system?

It's hosted ... although there is a server on site (I bought their appliance). Not 100% sure why the server is onsite. I do know that there is some configuration that is set locally, including SIP and DialCast It is the on-site server where I am pointing the 3CX pbx.

Also, do you have any idea what this means?

09/06/2018 3:00:07 AM - There's another STUN server that resolves to the same IP: 158.69.11.6:3478/UDP fk=0; ignored

Getting this error on the #CX pbx every 20 minutes.
