Hello,
I would like to report a bug regarding the speakerphone volume in the 3CX iOS application. After the most recent update (installed yesterday), we are experiencing significant issues with the audio level when switching to speaker mode.

Problem Details
When switching an active call from the earpiece to the speakerphone, the audio output is extremely quiet. This happens even when the iPhone volume is set to the maximum level. Surprisingly, the caller is heard more clearly through the standard earpiece than through the speakerphone, which should be much louder.

Environment
The problem has been confirmed on two different devices running the latest iOS:

iPhone 16 Pro

OS: iOS 26.4

3CX App Version: 5.5 (Build 147), 20.0.19.147

iPhone 14 Plus

OS: iOS 26.4 (a)

3CX App Version: 5.5 (Build 147), 20.0.19.147

Additional Information
This issue was not present before the latest update.

We have tested this on multiple calls, and the behavior is consistent.

Question to Support: Could the recent update (released/downloaded 1 day ago) have impacted the audio routing or gain levels for the speakerphone mode?

Can you you check the **hardware** (device side) buttons?

We can confirm the issue, it only started occuring after the update.
The behavior has been observed and confirmed on multiple iOS devices (iOS 26.4 and 3CX v5.5).

We'll check and let you know.

We received a call from a client this morning and we are experiencing the exact same issue described by the original poster.

The user no longer has access to the speakerphone. During calls, both parties hear audio twice, as if there is an echo. The audio level is also very low, and the user reports that the sound is extremely weak on their side.

We tested by provisioning the account on an Android device, and everything works perfectly. This suggests that the issue is specific to the iOS (iPhone) version.

I noticed the hardware volume buttons do not change the call volume, but if you tap Earpiece (or Speaker) the visible GUI volume slider does change volume.

I had no echo just now. (on update 8 not 8a)

We've had a report of this same issue and have tested it on 3 different iPhones internally too. All are having the same issue

I too have had clients reach out reporting this issue and tested on other systems with the same findings.

We've tested this internally on an iPhone 17 and an iPhone 12 and both are working much better, the audio when on the speakerphone is much louder as it should be

I have also tested from an iPhone 16 pro and the speaker phone audio is fixed.

@ThomB_3CX In the test app, the volume is fine now, and the hardware buttons do change the volume. I sent feedback in the app re: the volume display mentioned above.

As well several clients reporting the issue. Test with beta app seems to fix.
Any ETA on a published version?

Should we be having our end users sign up for this test flight or how quickly can we expect the update to ship?

@bbaker73 @etabora
We'll publish to AppStore once Apple approves it - we've submitted it yesterday, so expect it by tomorrow or by Friday.
