I would like to be able to transfer calls to my own SIP-based IVR. I was able to setup the PBX to route Direct SIP calls to my IVR, but this is a less than elegant way to get there. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It would be great if I could setup an extension to point there.

Our 3CX IPPBX already build in this feature (Digital Receptionist). Please let us know why you need to connect to 3rd party IVR. Any special function by you IVR can do for our DR cannot?

IVM answering attendant

Ive used IVM Answering Attendant by NCH Swift sound, and configured as an extension. It works fine.

You can have it as an DR option etc.

Graeme.

Instructions

To set up NCH IVM it is quite easy.

Just create an extension in 3cx with user/pass etc, say ext 400 and
SERVER : localhost:5060 (or whatever your 3cx port is)

Now, just configure IVM to connect like a sip device to that extension, using that extensions username/password etc.
