Just trying to figure out what's happened to my Jabra headset answer button in the Webclient. It used to work flawlessly. Last couple of weeks it works intermittently, maybe 10% of the time. No patterns I can identify - sometimes it works for the first call, sometimes first couple, sometimes it won't work for several calls then it will work for one call. Seems random.

  • Windows 10 - 19043.1288
  • Jabra Direct - 5.9.55495
  • Jabra Evolve 65 - 2.97.0 (Value Pack 3)
  • Chrome - 95.0.4638.54
  • 3CX -18.0.237

3CX:
  • Webclient > Headset integration > Jabra > "Headset ready"
  • Connect Headset > "Jabra Link 370 - Paired"

Jabra Direct:
  • Softphone Integration > Preferred Softphone > Zoom (No entry here for Chrome or 3CX Webclient).

Any tips appreciated!

I note the posts you linked are the desktop client not the web client.

Do you mean uninstall Jabra and then reinstall it? Or do you mean I can't use Jabra Direct at all? If I remove it how to I keep headset firmware up to date and adjust other headset settings? (I couldn't find equivalent settings in windows). Just to reiterate, I have been using Jabra Direct for 2 years without problem until last week.

Anyway just to test I did remove Jabra Direct and associated appdata folders.
Restarted computer. The webclient still reported "Headset ready". Tested and the button worked first time. Received another call and the button didn't work.

Did you also remove the Chrome Extension that Jabra has? Please check that too.

Also, have you tried on another PC that never had Jabra Direct installed?

Correct, no Chrome extension.

No I haven't tried on another machine. Will try.

I did try another machine. Ran it for a couple of days but experienced the same thing. Jabra button doesn't answer the call more than 1 out of 10 times.

Interestingly the Jabra button does seem to hang up/ignore an incoming call if you double press the button. And this seems to work reliably. (Within my limited testing).

Did you get any news about Jabra 65 evolve and jabra 75 engage with V18 Desktop App, as I have a prospect company which has already a fleet of those headsets and I'd like to know if they are able to work with 3CX.
Actually , they are also using Teams without any problems.

There some improvement being made on both the 3CX and Jabra side of the integration, but this is a continuous process.
There will some more improvements coming with V18 U2, but generally it should work.

Hi Nick, does "generally" means you are able to pick and hang up from headset buttons, do you have a guide to set headsets or there's nothing to do for use with desktop App

"Generally" means there have been some problems reported (as you have probably read in the threads....), but in most cases it works fine.

No guide, just select Jabra integration from the Webclient/Desktop App, no need to install Jabra Direct.

The answer button works now, but the phone call still does not work. When I answer the call, I neither hear the other party nor am I heard.

So I go back to the V16.3.0.200 again, where everything works.
Windows 11 (Windows 10 - same problems before)
Evolve 65

I tried it with and without Jabra Direct.
Jabra integration enabled
But also manually selected the sources for speakers and MIC.

Assuming you are the original poster as you seem to have logged into the forums with a different account

Just to confirm, you're saying this issue only occurs with the 3CX Webclient AND the 3CX Desktop App but NOT with the 3CX Windows App?

If that's the case, it may mean that the issue is network related as the Webclient and desktop app both have the same network requirements. Try with a completely different audio device apart from the Jabra headset to eliminate the possibility of this only being related to the headset.

If you still get the same behavior even without the headset, then it might indeed mean we'll have to look elsewhere. During out of office hours, access the Management Console, go to "Dashboard >> Firewall" and run the firewall checker, do absolutely all tests pass? Note that all ports mentioned here must be forwarded to the PBX, not just the ones tested by the firewall checker.

Also try the same exact extension via the webclient on a different network. If this PC has wifi capabilities, you could simply temporarily create a hotspot on a mobile device, have the PC connect to it and then make an echo test by calling *777. Do you have audio when you do this?

Note: Please bear in mind that Windows 11 has yet to be tested with 3CX so all tests involving a PC must be done on Windows 10.
