Keyboard or Laptop Volumne Control turns off sound

Using the USB keyboard or laptop volume control buttons mutes the 3CX voip phone without indication (unlike when you click the mute button). This happens either whilst dialing, ringing or talking. To workaround I must cancel the call, adjust volume on task bar, and redial.
