Hey Everyone,

With the web API now removed by 3CX and the ever increasing costs of the licenses we are starting to lose more and more deals on functionality and cost.

Just recently we came up against Cisco Broadworks and not only were they cheaper for 340 users they also offered far more APIs for custom development and integration in their systems. After initially hearing Cisco i thought their pricing would be far more than 3CX so was very surprising learning it wasnt.

How do we keep up or should we be looking to move to Cisco Broadworks?

All the APIs are still there. Only the documentation has been removed. That said, I don't know why 3CX has withheld the documentation and what that means long-term. It is obviously a concern for us given our company only has one purpose -- to build add-on products for 3CX using the various APIs.

We built our own REST API to create our tools, so perhaps it doesn't really matter to us that 3CX has removed the documentation... but it does beg the question what 3CX plans to do about the APIs in the future.

Exactly that. With the API documentation no longer available 3CX is shutting off its product from the rest and the less it integrates the quicker it will die. Was there perhaps a security flaw on the documentation that they trying to fix quickly.

I don't think that was the reason. It's not at all straightforward how to authenticate to either of the APIs. But, as far as I know, 3CX has not stated why the documentation was pulled. In any case, if you need help with custom development, we can do it.
