Hi, we have a client who has between 800 and 1000 users spread over 20 sites and we want to switch them to 3CX, hosted in the cloud. Question is, do you think it is better to set up one large instance or many smaller instances that are bridged together? Any experience in this here?
Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris

I would definately create one large system and have the 20 sites conecting via SBC. Less admin for you and only one PBX to upkeep.

Rent some rack space in a reputable data centre and put your own server in it. make sure you follow 3CX's advice on spec!

Would agree with Kent3, managing multiple systems would be a a pain and you would have to think about outbound rules between the systems. Go for a single instance with Enterprise failover.

if the 20 sides are in reasonable distance then for sure all in one PBX and SBCs from the office (or VPN).
To define reasonable: PBX in Los Angeles and customers in Singapore will be with high latency...

Dear all - thanks for your quick and sensible advice. One large Enterprise on proper hardware will be the way to go then. Cheers guys!

One thing to consider is the VoIP trunk(s) you will be using. If the sites are in different countries, then each will probably want outgoing calls via a local provider. If you want to use a local caller ID, as a "main" number, for a site, that is also going to be a consideration.
