we have an 8SC Pro license and got this message

SIP Server/Call Manager ID: 8193

License limit is reached, active calls: [25,26,27,28,30]

what exactly constitutes simultaneous calls? Do internal call constitute that?

Thanks leon

Yes internal calls add up to

Ugh that wasn't expected. we only expected inbound or outbound calls to be counted :-(

TY we need to reevaluate all this then. This was totally unexpected. I could see a limit on calls in and out NOT internally.

To order the licence fitting your use, normal rule is 3 or 4 extensions for 1SC

https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/
Plans & Pricing
3CX Pricing is based on the number of simultaneous calls your company needs

Pricing page does not distinguish a difference between internal or external calls - only "simultaneous calls".... and if your reseller did not give you correct information regarding this, then shame on them.

We're running into this issue not because of internal calls, but because of the callback feature. With v16, calls that are queued up for callbacks now count against our simultaneous call limit, which we feel it should not. Calls queued up to for callbacks are not active calls. They're just waiting for an available agent.

Please reconsider this change. This will double our licensing costs simply to use this feature and we feel that's not right.

I have licence limit reached errors on the event log. I checked the licence in licence settings. I get Unable to reach 3CX License Activation Server. Confirm that your Primary DNS Server is able to resolve activation.3cx.com. activation.3cx.com resolves to 151.80.125.88.
I get no reply, request times out.
I have a 16sc pro and am limited to 4sc right now.
I am not hijacking, I think wa4ziw might be having the same problem.

This is a different issue. Your server cannot, for whatever reason, get to the activation servers. Start by checking your DNS settings and the firewall.

Thanks for the reply and help.
I am now on 16.0.0.1581, the phone system upgraded last night. I have active maintenance till june. Just did an apt-get upgrade just in case.
I have checked 3 other dns servers and activation.3cx.com resolves to 151.80.125.88. An arin reverse lookup shows that is in 3cx public cloud services.
ping gets no reply from the phone system, a pc on a different network and my phone over lte.
I think the activation server is down, or has moved and the dns record is stale.

No, its live...

Linux install?

nano /etc/network/interfaces

comment out IPv6 and see if that works.

all good in interfaces.
a traceroute for me stops at 15th hop. 188.165.9.84.
are you resolving activation.3cx.com to 151.80.125.88 ? can you ping it?
Thanks for your help in advance

are they not blocking ICMP? The fact you cannot ping / trace is normal.

What is your primary DNS Server? Make it 8.8.8.8 and restart the configuration service and test again

ok, it activated, I wish I could tell you guys what fixed it, I had 40 people with pitch forks and torches outside my door.
The last thing i did was change the order of the dns in resolv.conf and restart the configuration service.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Good stuff. My bet is DNS ;)

hi there...we are a reseller....when we spoke to 3cx originally over a year ago this was not mentioned. It is what it is but internal calls, IMHO, should not be counted.

I am getting this on every outbound call in the logs, but the calls complete. Nothing indicates that we are over our limit with this client as she is licensed for 16SC and has only completed around 16 calls TOTAL for the entire day today.

It is not blocking inbound or outbound calls, just registering the following in the log each time a call comes in or goes out.10075

EDIT: I rebooted the server and this does not show up on every single call any longer. It seems like I am having to reboot V16 servers A LOT to fix silly issues.

Does paging count towards simultaneous calls? If I have a 16sc licence and page a group with 17 internal members, will I hit my license limit?

Paging only counts as 1 SC regardless of the number of extensions you are paging.
