Hi

Using webclient on my desk laptop I find it not so easy for multiple reasons (Ubuntu having bad habit not to keep proper audio settings for browser and levels too among other things), I was thinking to recycle one of my old PI 3b+ installing raspbian with graphical destop on it, install Firefox with startup URL on webclient and plug on the PI my USB headset ! I can install VNC on it so can handle easily from time to time the need to relogin the browser on 3CX webclient !
Only issue so far I see is how to call/hangup on that client ? I want to use it for sure headless and forget it in a corner of the desk ! I checked in the Android client but I see nothing to tell him to hangup/call from a specific device (using the android app on my phone as a remote of the webclient) ! or I missed something ?

Thanks for your ideas

Vincèn

Hi @vincen,

Why would you rather have the Web Client without a screen, instead of just provisioning the Android client and having an interface to make calls rather than just receive them?

Have enough screens on my desk and all the more just for the phone ;)

Android client on the PI ? it's also a solution, just less easy but it won't change the problem to control it ? or were you thinking at something else ?

Hi @vincen,

You install your 3CX system as per our guide here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-pbx-raspberry-pi/

Once done, you create an extension, and scan the QR code sent to the email address of the extension, from the 3CX Mobile App (which you can find on the Play Store).

You'll be able to control your incoming and outgoing calls, after setting this up correctly, straight from the Android Client.

Well all that is done alrealy since a long time but thanks ;)

That was my previous question if it was possible from the android App ? as I see nothing in the android app to use it as a remote of the webclient :-(

Maybe I misunderstood you previously. Would you like to access the Management Console, where you configure the settings for your PBX,

OR

The Web Client, which acts as a web based softphone?

The Android app will be able to make and receive calls, which means you wouldn't need the Web Client unless you're looking to manage everything via a switchboard. Let me know what you'd like.

As already told before it's to build a softphone independant of computer ;)

Yep but android app won't change problem of control of it if android device is headless....

Hi @vincen,

So you want to only answer calls and hang up calls without touching an interface of a device whatsoever?

You do not want to make outbound calls? If no, and you only need to receive calls, I suggest installing the PBX on a computer, having an extension logged in and then controlling the answering / hanging up with a bluetooth headset.

Ah no I want to be able to use that as both incoming calls but also calls out with it so I have to find out a way to remote control it easily ;)

Hi @vincen,

I'm afraid there is no solution other than to either log in to a web client or install the mobile client to give you access to dial numbers.
