Line busy when on a call ..

Hi All,

Im quite new to this, im trying to setup my 3cx phone system so when someone places a call, all the other phones change that line to busy. So they know that cant use that extension.

Can someone please help me with this.

I have 3 handsets setup, i can place calls on all of them, i can dial each phone internally. So they run seperate.

If there is only one outgoing trunk, they won't hit a busy signal until they have tried (dialled) an outgoing call.

I take it you want the other extension, the ones not in use, to pick up and not get dial tone, telling them that the one outgoing line is in use, is that correct? If so then you want something like a key system. You might be able to simulate it with a SIP phone with assignable keys, button shows in use when other extension is off hook. It won't work that way with an ATA.

Even if you had 3 extensions with the same extension number, they will continue to get dialtone when they go off hook, that is how a (SIP) PBX operates.
