Hello,
I notice big differences in call quality, depending on the 'C state' of the CPU .
To be precise , If the host CPU is in deeper C-states the sound can be dull , if the CPU is more busy, the sound is bright.
Until now i create more dummy load on the processor to get better call quality
This is kinda stupid, no?
these kernel parameters don't let the cpu go in deeper C states, but sound is then very bright. CPU frequency, always stays at base frequency , 1200 mhz
intel_idle.max_cstate=0
processor.max_cstate=1
The more recent processors are even more aggressive in shifting states and frequencies.. This might become a problem. Newer Cpu's shift down to 800Mhz , since 3cx is almost using no CPU, it stays in that state, and sound might sound even more dull. ( I haven't tested newest Cpu's)
The system requirements for 3cx are allready quite vague, and it takes not in account the deeper states of the CPU.
IMHO, using high clocked CPUS (cores) are really a bad buying advice, since they will stay constantly on the base frequency
