Hi there,

i have a little porblem with my live chat application.
1. i am using the code generator
2. i enter the webpage where i have installed the live chat button

I am testing the live chat locally, and everything works perfectly fine when i use my local IP: 192.xxx.xxx.32:5000 for my local environment
Now when pudhing it into live production this does not work anymore. And i don`t realy know why.
What kind of parameter does the channel-url object need? Should it be loval IP of the chatserver or an IP reachable from externally??

my click2talk link alsways looks like this, although entering the webpage from which it should be used
http://192.xxx.xxx.32:5000/callus/#chatname

any help would be very much appreaciated

sincerely.
Nicholas

Hi @nicholaskarg,

It should be reachable externally as users external to your network will be contacting the PBX directly for the Live Chat, so you need to use the FQDN and the HTTPS port in the "callus" link.

Hi @nicholaskarg,

so why is the generator giving me a local IP and not one which i can see from the outside?
If you log in to your PBX using a machine local to the PBX, your FQDN will be replaced by the local IP to ensure you have access internally. If you log in to the PBX externally, you won't be able to reach the local IP, so you'll be forced to use the FQDN and when creating the link, you'll get a FQDN in the URL you're looking for.

The URL that you need to paste in the Live Chat HTML Code generator is created either by editing the an extension or a Call Queue and clicking the Click2Call/Click2Meet link at the top. It will include a link like: https://myFQDNname.3cx.co.za:5001/callus/#Support (The queue's friendly name is Support). You paste the link in the HTML code generator step 1, which tells the Chat Bubble where it will be connecting to during the chat.

Hi Vasilis,

thx for this reply...! the missing link is loggin in from external! now i get everything inlcuding the external FQDN!
but now i got another issues. The script is taking to long to load and throwing a timeOut error and a cors error: Please check chat URL parameter and ensure CORS requests are allowed from current domain.

but in the console i specified the correct webpage onwhich the chat is hosted (with https) - i am using react

sorry for the constant questions - awesome support by the way

Hi @nicholaskarg,

Under Messaging on the PBX, have you added Live Chat

Can you provide the whole error message here or via PM? Can you also send me your website URL in PM?

UPDATE: This was an issue between using the FQDN and trying to connect to the chat using a machine local to the PBX. Assisted @nicholaskarg and resolved.
