I am hosting our 3cx on an AWS server and used PBX express to set it up. It is running on Linux and I've looked through most of the threads here that I can find on the issue. What fixed it in the end was running the command "sudo service 3CXPhoneSystemMC01 start". This is great however it's an ongoing issue and I don't want to have to keep connecting an SSH tunnel and running the command each time it happens. What can I check to see what is going wrong here? Thanks.

When did you last reboot the system?

is 3CX up to date?

I sometimes run the following via SSH. it checks 3CX servers for updates.

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

Do you have enough space on the vm?

Hello @[email protected]

Check the VM's resources as most of the time services stop due to lack of resources. A spike in memory needs or lack of Disk space could cause some services to stop.

Thanks kieferschild and YiannisH_3CX for the replies,
Rebooting was actually the first fix I found before restarting the server, how often do you need to reboot?
I'm running 15.5 and there are no updates showing as available so I'm thinking that it's up to date.

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
udev 240208 0 240208 0% /dev
tmpfs 50240 8608 41632 18% /run
/dev/xvda1 8190392 2098184 5656448 28% /
tmpfs 251192 4 251188 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5120 0 5120 0% /run/lock
tmpfs 251192 0 251192 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 50236 0 50236 0% /run/user/1000

As for memory, the system hasn't been moved into production (yet) so I wouldn't have thought there would be too much load placed on it.

Normally you should not have to reboot unless there is a major update or a service needs restart to apply a change. If this has never happened before i do not think you should take any actions. If it happens again then you could check the management console logs for anything that might indicate the cause of the issue.

Thanks again YiannisH_3CX, unfortunatly it has happened multiple times before and I've actually just tried to log back in to the management console this morning to check the logs and I've got the same screen. I ran the command "sudo service 3CXPhoneSystemMC01 start" again and I can log back in. Apart from a couple of black listed IP addresses there is nothing out of the ordinary that I can see on the event log. Is there a more detailed log I can check or do you have any other ideas what might cause this?

You can check the activity log and change the logging level for more details. You can also check the management console log. If this happens frequently you could also log a ticket with our support department so they can go through the PBX logs ans determine the cause of the issue.
