Hi, hope everyone is doing well

we plan to upgrade from a Standard Annual license to a PRO license

the problem is, we lost access to the email we used for Registration and the password for the 3CX portal

what I want to know is if we use our new license key, will we get prompted to create a new 3CX account, or will it be associated with our old account that we lost access to it?

If you buy through a partner, we can create a new user for you with a new email and associate the license to that. Then, simply swap the license in the PBX.

well, they did create a new account and associate the license to it
I tried to sawp it from license settings > Replace License Key it gives me an error

This license key is already in use and bound to another FQDN. You need to login to your customer portal and release this license key from it’s current FQDN binding. Only after the key is unbound will you be allowed to transfer your existing FQDN onto this new key

Is there a way to remove the FQDN and license already on the installed server?

Sounds like the partner who bought it is using it for something else. Might wanna check that with them.

I don't think they are, when I log in to 3CX portal account they created and check its status I find it not installed and not activated

I guess the only option is to take a backup without the license and reinstall it with it and reactivate it

It's supposed to be able to change the license if the new one isn't used and has no FQDN associated with it.

They did associate it with another FQDN with the name of our company
Could they create the account without associating it with a FQDN?
If I disconnect that FQDN and replace the license, will the license still be connected to the new account with the new email or connect to the old account with the old email?

It should stick to the new account but yes you will have to release the FQDN of the new license so that your current one can be assigned to it.
