Make call without dialing "9"

Hello;
I am using dialing "9" for street callings, can I configure the outbound rule for the following local area code in case of not dialing "9", it is still able to make call. I tried to make a new rule for " Calls to Numbers with a length of " is "10" and empty for " Calls to numbers starting with prefix", then in Route 1 -> Prepend, I put "9". Because I only need for these two area codes, so what is the right setup? Thanks

There is no "right" setup, you setup the outbound rules for what works with your provider , and what you want. The problems come where there are conflicting numbers, or you want certain numbers to route over certain trunks. You can base one outbound rule on 10 digit numbers only, and have others to handle national, and international. You will also need to deal with special "short" numbers, such as 411, and the like.

Is it that you are attempting to dial those two area codes only, with out adding 9? Create two new rules. start with 416, 10 digits long, strip 0, and prefix with whatever your provider requires (a 1?). (repeat for areacode 905) then try placing the new rules above the 9+ rule.

Hi Kane,

@leejor gave a very good explanation to follow, and since you probably have other rules already, please keep one important detail in mind:

- The PBX scans the outbound rules from top to bottom, and it will take the first rule that will match
- This means you may have to reorder your rules in case they appear not to work, because the first rule to match will always be used, even if it is not the one you wanted
