Make IVR(playfile) call to external number

Hi,
Using Call API, IVR(playfile) can make call to extension to play prompt file just fine.
However, it does not call at all to external number. I can see call log just fine, but there is no connection.
Do i have to make changes in setting of 3cx somewhere or other things to make it work?

Probably your outbound rules are restricted to specific extensions or group, and then they can't be applied. You should check your outbound rules, and ensure that they can be selected for caller that are not normal extensions.

We had the same problem yesterday. We could perform a standard MakeCall to an external number (which eliminates the scenario where an outbound rule was blocking the call), and we could "Playfile" to an internal extension, but we could not "playfile" to an external number. We still do not have a solution. It works fine on our servers/trunks, but not on the customer's server/trunks. It appears to be a environment specific issue? Makes no sense to me.

Yes, my outbound rules is set with specific extension group. However, like voiptoys said, i can make call to external number just fine, but playfile.
How can i add IVR(playfile) which is the default when using API, to a certain group or outbound rule for making call to external number?

You can't, you need an outbound rule which doesn't specify any restriction regarding originating extensions.
