Is there any way when you use the makeCall function within .NET that it will actually make a call by dialing a number on the source extension, instead of the "MakeCall" user starting the call which then needs picked for the connection to be made?
The reason I ask is that our inhouse software will know which extension to make the call from and to, so it just needs to dial the number directly from the users phone.

The makecall function actually makes two calls, one to the first party, and a second call to the other party AFTER the first party has answered the call. It then merges the two calls together when the 2nd participant answers the call. There isn't any way to change how that works.

If you create a 3CXPhone plugin, you can request the outbound call to 3CXPhone. This way, it will be 3CXPhone who starts the call. But this can't be done from the server, you need this plugin on every client PC running 3CXPhone for Windows.
