We are using YeaLink T38 phones and they have 6 lines.
We have DIDs for some of our staff and we are directing the DID to their extension.

We want calls received via the DID to ring / show on the Phone's Line 6 (Not 1 or 2 etc if 1 is busy)....

Any ideas on how to approach this?

How do you have the 6 line keys set up? Each, it's own extension number, or, multiples of the primary set extension (key 1)?

If each key has it's own unique extension number, then just direct the incoming DID trunk call to the extension programmed on key 6.

I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for.

The only way to that easily is to:
Setup a phantom secondary extension for each user, route the DID there and register that ONLY on the 6th line of the phone. That's a REAL lot of work when all you need to do is give the DID a distinctive name and that will display on the phone LCD when the call is coming in. - Please ensure that you have the FWD rules allowing more than one call.

okay - setting up a phantom extension worked. Thanks for your help.

No problem, anytime.
