Hi All, I have a client that does not want to use the system to open and close the phones at night or in the morning. They want to manually put the system in closed mode. Is the best way to do that the *64x?

Hello @VictorC

If the client does not want to use the office hours to automatically set the PBX to in and out of office hours then the best way by using the dial codes as you mentioned.
If they use the dial code to set the PBX to out of office then they will need to use the dial code to set the PBX to in office the following morning or the PBX will remain in out of office hours.

Can that use closed/open mode and not have any set hours in the system?

Yes you can use *64 codes , without configuring out of office hrs

Yes you can however you still need to configure your Out of office destinations for calls.

Hi VictorC,

One word of warning that always catches people out on this one.

If you put the PBX (force) by dial code and want to resume normal office hours you must use the correct * code to do this.

There is force IN, force OUT and resume normal office hours: https://www.3cx.com/docs/pbx-dial-codes/#h.665f9ex1w4m3
