This is a follow up to my last topic Auto/Manual switching of office hours not working as I think I closed the ticket too soon. I have the automatic part working just fine however when I try to manually set the office to in hours the phones stay on DND. I was expecting to be able to switch the system to in office mode even during a day where the office is normally closed or is my expectation off...?

Perhaps I'm behind in changes made to 3CX, but in my experience forcing the phone system out of office is effectively telling the entire phone system (not your individual extension) the office is closed. It doesn't change the status of the phones (putting them in DND or taking them out of DND). Essentially, it just changes your office hours.

As above , changing the office hours status only changing the routing of the sip ‘ trunk lines

it does not change the status of the phones.

why and how are you setting the phones into dnd

From the Time Based Scheduling module it shows how to setup office hours and break times. In that example when the office is in out of office hours the extensions get set to DND. Time Based Scheduling I think I understand what you mean. I currently to not have office hours setup on the inbound rules for my trunks only on the global office hours setup via Settings page of the Management Console, by the “Timezone, Office Hours & Holidays” button.

So if I am only using the Global office hours then doing a manual switch of the PBX via *64 is not required?

Settings->Timezone - lowest priority
Trunk
Inbound Rules - highest priority

So if I remove the trunk time and use inbound rules only will that enable manual setting of the office houser?

Correction I don't have any inbound office hour rulse setup only Global

That’s fine , having global hours.

Changing between out ‘ in hours does not change the status of the phones -,i.e dnd (unless you have configured autoswitch) it just changes the routing of the sip / trunk line defined by in hours and out of hours settings

If you have autoswitch configured on the phone, it will change the status depending on the office hours specified https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/automatically-change-an-extensions-status-based-on-time.55578/

To make your life easy, remove autoswitch on the phones and have the routing on the sip / trunk lines then dial *64 so that the system is using default rules
