Hi Experts,

I've successfully integrated our 3CX system with Microsoft Teams using the Direct Routing feature. However, I'm encountering an issue during the configuration process.

When I execute the dial plan script (Step 3) and the user mapping script (Step 4) in PowerShell, the expected policies — namely the 3CX Dial Plan, 3CX Calling Policy, and 3CX Voice Route — are not being assigned to the users as intended. As a workaround, I’ve had to manually assign these policies to individual users, which then allows the integration to work correctly.

Could anyone advise why the scripts might not be applying the policies automatically? Is there something I might be missing or misconfigured?

Additional Question:
I’m also planning to roll out the integration in phases. For example:
  • Phase 1: 50 users
  • Phase 2: 50 users
  • Phase 3: 50 users
In Phase 1, I’ve already integrated the first group of 50 users with Teams Direct Routing. At a later date, I plan to add the next group of 50 users (Phase 2) into 3CX.

My question is:
Will Teams Direct Routing be automatically applied to these newly added users once they’re synced with 3CX, or will I need to re-run the map_users script from Step 4 in PowerShell each time I onboard a new group?

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

This is also clarified in the guideline here:

Ok, thanks! But how about my queries 1?

Check the troubleshooting guideline here, it will give you the exact information that is required.

Hi @TheodorosG_3CX, I think you have misunderstood me. The user has been assigned with a correct license listed as below:

What I mean is after I run the map_users script in Step 4, it doesn't really map the users to the dial plan, calling policy and voice route.

Please advise.

It's okay, I have modified my map_user.ps script and it able to add the dial plan, voice route and calling policy accordingly at the Teams Admin Centre.

However, I would like to ask if new batch of 50 users who wished to onboard at a later date, meaning that I need to re-run the script of map_users.ps1 and then need to wait 24 hours to be reflected only then I can make calls thru Team Dialer, correct?

That is correct.
