Hi.

We have to use a prefixed 0 for external calls. This works perfectly. If a extension has multiple devices (web client, smartphone, windows client, DECT phone, desk phone, ...) and it dials for example 0 040 123123 from its desk phone, the call history from web client, windows client and the smartphone client sees the number without a leading 0. It sees "040 123123" and this for it cannot redial the number just by tapping the entry from the call history.

The desk phone and DECT phone isn't affected because it cannot see the call history from 3CX, it only uses its own call history.

I know that 3cx has to strip off leading 0 when handing the call over to berobox but I am not sure why the internal clients see the (not callable, without leading 0) wrong number in call history...

Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi Christian,

If you hang up before the remote party answers, does the number appear correct in your history with leading zero?

What if you make a second outbound rule: first 00 strip 1 digit second 0 no stripping. Will it skip the first rule because you only have one 0 and not 2?

Hi JohnS_3CX

Curiously. You are right. If remote does not answer, I see the exact number on 2nd devices call history I dialed on 1st device. no rewrite...

Only after remote answers, a wrong number shows on 2nd device history...

What does this mean?

Hi hedan.

What if you make a second outbound rule: first 00 strip 1 digit second 0 no stripping. Will it skip the first rule because you only have one 0 and not 2?

I will check this later. But when I remember correctly, some outbound-rules relay on a leading "0". I am currently not near the 3CX Admin Console, so I cannot check this right now.

The behavior of the PBX is currently designed to behave this way, if the call is answered it will show the final number sent to the provider, if not it will show the dialled number.

Hi JohnS_3CX.

Thank your for clarification.

What is the intention behind this behavior? It is really bad because it means that I cannot redial externally, if I am forced to prefix a number ("0" in my case) for external calls.

In my opinion is a change in telephone numbers not a good idea at all...

Is there anything I can change anywhere to prevent this? Or by setting up any outbound rule?

I am currently in home office and have always to copy and edit-paste an external number if I want to redial them...

When I am having my desk phone, it ignores the number change that it gets from 3CX and saves every dialed number (the way I did it) in its history. But 3CX's Web- and Smartphone-Client acts the way you describe it.

Regards, Christian
