When I launch the Android client, my contacts image is displayed. If I go to 'More' and then back to 'Phone', the image is missing. Is this me/my setup or does anyone else get this experience?

Many thanks

Hello @PaulD

What version Android client are you running and what android version is your mobile running? Can you replicate the issue every time? Also is it only navigating to "More" that causes the issue or does navigating to Call history for example causes the same behaviour ?

Thanks for response. Answers as follows:-

3CX Client version : 15.5.344.492 (and I've uninstalled and re-installed too - no joy)
Android version : 7.0
Mobile : Samsung J5 (2017) running latest updates

Yes, does it every time. Does it with all options - presence, contacts, recents, more - even starting to dial a number and deleting back. Basically, once the image goes away, it doesn't come back.

Thanks

I tried to replicate the behaviour on a Samsung A5 (J5 is not available at the moment) but i could not replicate the behaviour. I also tried the same test with a Google Pixel phone running the latest Android version but i could not replicate the issue.

With that in mind and since the client gets the profile photo through the presence i would recommend checking the connectivity of the client to the PBX.

Can you replicate the issue with WiFi and 3G/4G? Also are you able to replicate the issue using a different device?

I can confirm that it is the same whether on Wi-Fi or 3G/4G.

You state that the ' … client gets the profile photo through the presence … ' but we don't store any user photos in 3CX. I've always assumed that my photo is picked up from my mobile contacts because if I don't grant 3CX permission to my contacts, it doesn't display a picture.

I will test another mobile tomorrow and feed back.

Good to know as the way i tested was with a contact picture imported from the web client. Let me test it with a contact photo

I was able to replicate the issue using a photo taken from the contacts and we will try to see what is causing the issue so we can improve the behaviour.
In the meantime i would recommend settings the user photos through the webclient so you don't face the issue.
Thank you for reporting.

Thanks for replicating the fault. For information, I have just set up a Vodafone Smart Prime 7 running Android 6.0.1 and the issue is exactly the same on that phone.
Thanks.

PS Is there a way to centrally push images into the extensions/webclient?. At present, all our users maintain their contacts in Outlook and then get them automatically on their mobile via Exchange/ActiveSync.

Currently the only way to add images for contacts is through the web client.

Many thanks - will need to wait for fix.
