Hello,

I have a newly installed 3CX in a Windows Server machine. I have a smaller C drive with the OS where 3CX was installed, and a larger empty D drive where I would like to put all the 3CX data (recordings, voice mail, logs, and so on).

Is there a way to change everything at once? How would the experts recommend me to set this up?

Thanks,

Luis

Well if you are talking about setup it seems we are past that point. Easiest thing to do, especially if it's a new install, is uninstall and then reinstall and pick the D drive this time. Optionally taking a backup and copying out of of the 3CX folder if there is configuration in place.

But should I pick the D drive for the installation folder (C:\Program Files\3CX Phone System), or for the data folder (C:\ProgramData\3CX). I was not asked to pick the second one.

Thanks,

Luis

It's been a long time since I've done a Windows install so I'm not sure if it will still pick C:\ProgramData or not if you pick D. Seems easy enough to test though.

But as 3CX is supposed to be dedicate you could always reinstall the OS with just a large C partition and then not have any worries.

Yes, I could probably do that. Just reformat the server before moving forward. Is there any rule of thumb of required space? X GB per 100 extensions or something like that?

Thanks,

Luis

That'll do. Thank you very much!

Luis

As the server should be only running 3cx and no other functions , why not delete the d drive and expand the size of the c drive
