Solved Move STUN remote extensions to SBC

Hello everybody,
We have a remote office with a couple of extensions STUN provisioned.
Since that location has slow bandwidth and probably will soon need to increase its extensions numbers, I'd like to know if there is a way to move all exensions to SBC without factory resetting all of them.
This is because I will have to do it from remote, and there also is a Yealink DECT with 4 handsets that probably will need to be registered again.
I should do this on night time to avoid interruption of service; so what should it be the best way to move them to SBC?

As the phones already have the 3cx provisioning link associated within the phone setup , it should be a case.

Delete existing phone under phone provisioning , and recreate using sbc as the setup, and the entering the mac address.

Under options untick 'Block Remote Tunnel Connections (3CX App connections with Tunnel enabled & SBC will be blocked)'

Reboot the phone, and it should provision using the new settings

The same applies to the Yealink dect , just recreate the sbc setup and assign the extensions

How do you plan to add a SBC from remote location? SBC is not only a mode to be set but need hardware.
DECT even in local needs to be set manually ,so if you change to SBC , same to be done , reset.

If you have to do configuration remotely only, you almost need an access to remote LAN from a computer you have SSH or teamviewer on

Hi,

It's best to factory reset and reprovision. If you have remote access to a PC on the customer's network you should be able to do it.

You may get away with it by simply changing the provisioning method to SBC in the management console for each extension, add the SBC local IP, and then go to the phones section and select the devices. Hit reprovision, and you should see their IP change as soon as they re-register to say x.x.x.x via SBC x.x.x.x indicating that they now connect via SBC. You may have issues though, it's always best to factory default them.

When all is done, don't forget to remove the port forwards you previously had for the STUN phones as they will no longer be needed.

There is a windows server installed in the remote office, so I plan to install SBC on it

It's best to factory reset and reprovision. If you have remote access to a PC on the customer's network you should be able to do it.

As I've written above, I have a windows server installed and I also can VPN client my pc to the net, so it is also possible for me to connect directly into each phone web interface. My biggest thought is about the DECT: if I can reprovision it with SBC without having to factory reset it (and register again each handset that have to be done manually on it), I can schedule my activity.

I understand your concern. While there is no guarantee, you might just get away with reprovisioning it and not needing a reset

Worse case, you can do the other phones remotely and for the DECT get a single person from the office to grab the handsets and re-register them if needed.

I think you're right: let's hope to be lucky with reprovisioning without resetting the DECT.

I just wanna let you know that I change the provisioning method from STUN to SBC, reprovisioned and rebooted every extensions and everything seems working properly, without factory reset.

Glad to hear. In case any future issues do arise with the DECT, find an opportunity to factory reset it otherwise it should serve you fine.
