Moving from port 5001 to 443

Is there a How To or FAQ guide on changing the web server port from 5001 to 443?

When I originally set up 3CX, I just accepted the default 5001, but now in hindsight, it would make more sense to use 443, to reduce firewall issues and user confusion.

I realise that all connected phones will need to be re-provisioned after the change - is it feasible (in theory) to do this by logging in to the web interface of each phone? We don't have many business critical extensions, so would be happy to take a risk that some phones might need a physical visit if the remote change doesn't work.

To change port, you would have to backup 3cx with fqdn and license. Delete existing 3cx system and reinstall using the backup - you can select the required port.

Yes, you could change the provisioning url by the phone web gui, or use dhcp option 66

Any mobiles, windows apps will need reconfiguration by scanning the qdr code or importing new configure file from the welcome email

Depending on your networking setup you could forward port 443 to 5001 (incoming on your PBX). That way both ports would work and you wouldn't have to reprovision anything or touch 3CX.

WebRTC might cause some discovery issues. However, for the simplifaction of reprovisioning the IP Phones, this can be done! They will connect within 24h the server, load the new prov file and then will use 443!
