Moving on onsite premise to cloud

Hi,

One my my client wanted to move to the cloud. So here are the step to do this. Please let me know if i'm missing anything. I have one concern is the IP phone are connected through LAN IP to the 3cx. So moving it to the cloud I will need to change it? Please advise.

1. full backup 3cx
2. spin up a cloud instance and setup with same license key and restore backup
3. phone? do I need to reset each phone and redo each phone to provision to the new hosted cloud IP?

Please advise on what is the best way to do this? do I also need to setup a SBC?

You're going to want to first set up an SBC and have your phones reprovisioned to use this SBC, that way when you move from A to B the only thing you need to wait for is the DNS to update.

Backup, turn off PBX-A, spin up PBX-B and do an install/restore.

Wait for DNS and you're good to go.

Thank you for this. this is what I needed. So setup SBC and reprovision all phone to the SBC. Doing this will there any downtime on the phone system?
One question is about I setup the hosted 3cx how do i connect the SBC to the new 3cx hosted cloud?

Then go through your extension, change them to SBC and then go to the phone tab > reprovision and then'll change without a hitch.

The only disconnection you're going to get is waiting for the FQDN to update to the new IP - shouldnt really take that long tbf and may require you to restart the SBC. Though, make sure your SBC is using a good DNS server like cloudflare.

Once you've done a backup and restore you wont need to set up an SBC, just wait for yours to point to the new IP and it will come online.

Got it. I was reading since I'm using yealink t48S phone. those phone have build in SBC. does that mean I can connect those phone anywhere directly to the hosted 3cx. This mean I can provision those phone to connect to the hosted 3cx and the phone can be anywhere with internet connection correct?

I dont believe the T48S are router phones, the 48U's are.
