I am replacing our old SBC with a new one and have a few questions.

After you update the SBC in the admin console, users, ip phone, routing device, select new SBC.
Do you have to reboot or reprovision the phone?
How can I verify on the phone (SNOM) that it is now using the new SBC?

Does anyone have a guide for moving phones to a new SBC fast? This would be helpful if we have a hardware failure.

As far as I know, you have to restart the phone. This is what I have been doing.

To verify, you can look in the Phones tab for the and it will show which SBC it is connected to.

The phones are informed to reprovision as soon as you press save.

Hi John,

Is this new in version 20? I felt that in v18, I had to always restart the phone when I changed the SBC.

I tested just now (v20) and indeed, it reprovision which is good to know. Thanks!

I'm fairly sure if you rebuild the SBC with the same static IP as the old one and use the same auth key you don't need to change anything at all on the 3CX.
