We're moving our PBX to a datacenter and have an MPLS to our telco. When configuring the SIP trunk, the telco received packets from my pbx identifying itself as the public IP, which the sip provider couldn't route back to. I was able to "resolve" this by going into settings and changing my PBX's public IP to its internal IP, then the sip provider received the proper IP from our system. This article suggests that if the MPLS endpoint were a private address I wouldn't have any trouble.
I'm looking for a way to solve this without breaking external connectivity. I'm hoping there's a hidden setting where I can add this MPLS address to the list of internal IP ranges. Otherwise I may have to add some sort of gateway device to be an internal sip endpoint, and that just adds more complexity and latency.
