just set up a new 3cx install and relatively new to it. the way our prior system worked was was when a call came in it rings our main office for 20 seconds, if no answer the call goes to our branch office thats in another city for 20 seconds and if they dont answer it then goes to our answering service. so basically a live person always answers our calls.

im sure i did not do this right but in 3cx, i set up a ring group that rings all the phones in our main office. in the incoming calls rules i have the main office ring group set to ring for 20 seconds if no answer go to the other ring group i have set up as the branch office.

in the branch office ring group i have a user thats not a phone but its the only place i could find to add the branch office number. so in the forwarding rules i have it to where if that user doesnt answer in 1 second it forwards to the branch office. now since theres not a phone attached to this user it has a red circle next to it in 3cx. and then in the branch office ring group i have it set to where if it doesnt answer, it goes to anwering service.

so when i test by calling the main office and not answering on purpose, it skips the branch office and rings the answering service.

im sure there's a better way to set that up. TIA

You might want to look at the 3CX Activity Log (Verbose), to see why it is skipping, what I assume is a second ring group, at the branch office. If it is not a ring group, then more of an explanation may be required. You say that there is a user that's "not a phone", but have not really explained what it is. The Activity Log should help to point you in the right direction.

Have you tried not creating a second ring group an instead adding the branch office number here in your main ring group?
