Hi,

We have an existing sip trunk with a did of say 0712345678, this is also our outbound callerid. Is it possible to add a second failover trunk and still use the same 0712345678 as the outbound caller id when routing calls through that trunk? Even though it will have its own DID and be with a different provider?

Thanks
Ty

It depends if that second provider supports Clip No Screening to allow the use of a DID not registered to that provider.

Hello @tyty !

Ask your provider or if the trunks are coming from the same provider, you can try on the first one, put a random outbound CID in and try to see what happen

The PBX is capable of sending the same outbound caller ID for both trunks. The question is if the provider will accept this. You should ask the provider if this is possible and if so which SIP fields they are using to read the outbound caller ID.
