I know the title is a bit "generic" but here's my question. Is it possible (and if yes, is it technically correct??) to add multiple sip trunks, and then create separate groups of phone devices and assign each group to a certain number?

Let's say :

SIP1 : 0123456789
SIP2 : 9876543210

Group1 : 3 devices receiving and calling from SIP1

Group2 : 4 devices receiving and calling from SIP2

And if the answer is yes, can i set different settings for each group?

Yes it is possible. Outbound calling can be "restricted" in the outbound rules so that certain extensions will only use certain trunks.

As far as incoming...there are different ways to do this depending on needs. You could use DIDs to direct incoming calls direct to certain extensions, or all calls on one trunk group could go to a ring group that contains all of the extensions in that group. It all depends on what you want.

What do you mean by :"different settings", there are a lot of variables, and options, available.

Hi @akihabara

I would recommend looking at our academy section to get an idea how the system works and what capabilities it has: https://www.3cx.com/3cxacademy/

You can do what you want with 1 trunk which has multiple DIDs (numbers). You can use Inbound rules to direct calls from one DID to a Ring Group where you can assign certain people as members. And you can do that with multiple DIDs.
For outbound calls you can set the caller ID you want as the outbound caller ID of the extensions so when those extensions call out they will display the set caller ID.
