Solved Muted voicemails

Hi all,

I have a case where the voicemail messages are coming via email, but they have no sound. They are completely silent. But there is a duration on the file when you play it.

The installation is hosted on 3CX.

What could cause this problem?

Hi @apitsos,

If you dial the extension directly and leave a VM, does it arrive silently?

Are you sure that the person leaving the voicemail did actually speak? It wasn't a robodialler or anything that could have remained silent?

Thanks a lot for your answer and your effort to support me. I did a test and it looks like that it works fine. I called the extension internally, I left a message and I was able to hear it. I did also the correct way, from outside. That worked also fine.

But I am still wondering what was wrong with the voicemail we received, because it looks like a real call, from a mobile phone number...

Hi @apitsos,

It can well look like a real call, because it may well be a real call. The call may have been muted, it may have been a lot of different things that may cause this, without being able to isolate it though, I'm afraid I'd be taking shots in the dark.

As long as you and your client know that it works, that's great.
