Hello

I recently installed 3CX Live chat on my WordPress website and it is working fine. However, while testing I noticed that once I enter my name and email and send a test message, the name and email stick when I return to the site after closing the browser or refreshing the page (basically a totally new session). Only by double clicking the left mouse button, do they disappear in parts (word by word). Even after that, the name and email text boxes remain disabled, and I am unable to type anything. The chat text box below however remains enabled. I don't face this issue when I clear the cache and then come back to the site. The name and email are cleared out and not present then.

My idea is that what if some other person is sending me a message from the same computer. Maybe a different family member. It is not feasible to clear the cache every time to send a chat message.

Please let me know how I can fix this. I am using the nitropack plugin.

Thanks

Hello @akroor,

What you're describing is due to the way 3CX Live Chat stores user information in the browser — specifically using local storage. This allows returning visitors to resume their chat or keep their details for convenience.
Am afraid that it is hardcoded into the Live Chat feature and cannot be changed or customized.

Here's what's happening:
  • 3CX Live Chat saves the name and email in the browser's local storage so that it remembers the user for future visits.
  • This data doesn't automatically clear when the browser is closed or the page is refreshed.
  • Cache-clearing removes the local storage data, which is why it asks for your name and email after that (treating you as a new visitor)
