I need quick help. We've been running 3cx for at least 2 years now without issue. Unfortunately the business is shutting down for good. My last day here is Friday so I would like to get this done by then. We are allowed to take our computers home with us. I have the 3cx install on my computer, so if I take it the phone stop working which can't happen now. I did a backup of the system and installed it on a computer that is staying. I changed the ip addresses so the new computer looks like the install that is on mine. I shut off all 3cx services on my computer so ensure there is no conflict. I installed 3cx on the new computer and restored from the backup. I can't get this thing to work abnd I don't get why.

When I first installed the firewall tests passed with flying colors. Phones didn't work. I see on the dashboard that it can't activate. I can't figure out why. Looking online suggested changing the dns to good 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. Do that and it still doesn't work. Now the firewall isn't working and the sip server is failing saying full cone test failed. We have a barracuda firewall that's been in place since long before 3cx that is already configured for 3cx so I don't get why it won't work. Nothing was changed. I disabled windows firewall to ensure that isn't the issue.

I search online and nothing seems to want to tell me how to fix this. Plenty of stuff saying why it's an issue, but that doesn't help me go home. I just need some help getting this figured out. I've been at it for hours and I'm at the point I just want to put my head through a wall. Seriously don't want to be pulling all nighters for a failed business. Why is this thing refusing to work?

Is the other instance still installed on your computer? Because you cannot have 2 instances using the same license (you can if Enterprise but one has to be passive).

Also, is your computer using the same IP? Did you configure the 3CX to use the new local IP if it changed?

It is still installed on the old computer but the services are all shut off. I wanted to get things working before uninstalling, is that potentially causing the problem?

Yes, I changed the ip addresses on both computers so the new one has the same ip the old one did when running the phone system and so there is no ip conflict

If the services are off, shouldn't, but since you took a full backup, just uninstall it completely.

Then, reboot the new machine and see if it takes.

I tried uninstalling on the old computer, it still can't connect. I tried refresh license key information and it's saying ensure that the local or border firewalls are configured to allow outbound traffic to activation.3cx.com

Nope, still not working

Ran the firewall test again and it passed with flying colors this time. Still can't reach the activation and get the phones working though

Ok this is bizarre. Can't activate but all the phone except for the one connected to this computer are actually working fine now. No one is using this computer anymore, and therefor not the phone so I'll consider this success.

Reboot your firewall then reboot the 3CX machine. It might be stalled sessions.

Hi Frederick , I Wanted to say the same

Activation will not work if your PBX is not updated to V16.0.5.xxx at least
