Hello all, I am working with an old Norstar system and want to connect a Fanvil i16s door phone to unlock the door.

I have the door phone installed and working in 3cx, so it will ring a group, and they can chat on it, just can't unlock the door.

My question is it possible to pass the power from the DOC(NT8B79FA) to the Fanvil from the KSU on the DOC which looks to be 20V.

And then pass the 2 wires from the DOC on the DOC to an open relay on the Fanvil.

Also how do you read the dip switches on the module itself. I hear it's 6 or 23, as there is only 2 dips set, which is 2 and 3

Or am I wishful thinking on this one.

Thanks

I don't know Norstar, but I do know Fanvil i1x series phones.

The Fanvil can, upon entering DTMF tones on the phone, trigger a number of outputs. A http call, the contacts inside, etc.
My recommendation is to find the wires that actually trigger the door and connect them to the fanvil. Why involve the Norstar in this (basically replace it with the Fanvil instead of having it proxy from the Fanvil)?

I have been looking into that as well. This might have to be the solution.

any one do anything like this before?
